Competitions

The Storytelling and Singing Competition organized by Radio MGIRI was born out of a collective vision to channel the enthusiasm and creativity of young minds. Under the leadership and initiatives of MGIRI’s Director, Dr. Ashutosh A. Murkute, the competition aimed to nurture and showcase local talent. The goal was to provide a platform for young storytellers and singers to express their skills and creativity, fostering a sense of community engagement and empowerment.

Story Telling Competition

The Radio MGIRI team worked diligently to create awareness about the Storytelling Competition, targeting participants aged 5 to 16 years old. Radio MGIRI designed catchy jingles, engaging social media flyers, and video clips to spread the word. The response was overwhelming, with 97 enthusiastic entries flooding in within a week. Recognizing the tremendous interest, the registration phase was efficiently managed to ensure the event's smooth execution. The competition featured two rounds on August 26, 2023: the initial round, where out of 97 talented storytellers, 25 top performers were selected to advance to the final round. The judging panel for this round included Mr. Swanand Kalmbe, Mr. Suhas Ingle, Mrs. Dharati Raut, and Dr. Aparajita Vardhan. In the final round, participants crafted their stories. The event was expertly judged by professionals from the communication field, namely Mr. Rajesh Deshpande, Ms. Sima Mule, and Mrs. Nisha Verma. It was a tough decision for the judges as they had to select the top three performers. Ultimately, the third prize was awarded to Samar Gokhalani, the second prize went to Swarali Gadhawkar, and the first prize was awarded to the talented Chahat Petkar.
